Webster man facing felony charges after alleged 106 mph pursuit; warrant served after missed court date
CRIMEWEBSTER — A 22-year-old Webster man is facing felony charges in Burnett County after a sheriff's deputy reported clocking a vehicle at 106 mph during a late-night pursuit in September, during which the driver allegedly turned off the vehicle's headlights and taillights while fleeing, according to reporting on the criminal complaint.
Quentin Elliot Sax, 22, of Webster, is charged in Burnett County Circuit Court case 2026CF000150, filed October 20, with second-degree recklessly endangering safety, a Class G felony; vehicle operator fleeing or eluding an officer, a Class H felony; and resisting or obstructing an officer, a Class A misdemeanor. The court record gives September 23 as the offense date.
A $1,500 cash bond was set on September 23, with conditions that Sax not drive without a valid driver's license and that he obey all traffic laws. The bond was posted on September 28.
Sax was due in court for an initial appearance on October 28 but did not appear, according to the court record. Judge Melissia Mogen authorized a bench warrant carrying a $2,000 cash bond and ordered the previously posted $1,500 bond forfeited. The warrant was issued on October 29.
The court record shows the warrant was served on Friday, October 30.
The charges are allegations only. Sax is presumed innocent unless and until he is proven guilty in court, and the case remains open.
